Mercies Made New
New Beginnings
“Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me.”
Reflection
New beginnings rarely feel dramatic. More often they feel like a small turning of the heart toward God, a willingness to lift your eyes one more time. Psalm 25:4-5 reminds us, "Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach…" — and that is enough. You do not have to have your whole life figured out to begin again with the Lord. He meets the willing heart. He honors the smallest step taken in His direction. Today, lay down what cannot be carried, and pick up what He freely gives: His presence, His Spirit, His Word, His peace. Whatever season you are entering, you are not entering it alone. The One who calls you by name walks ahead of you and behind you. A fresh start is not the absence of struggle; it is the renewed assurance that God is with you in the middle of it. Begin again, gently and unhurried, in His grace.
Prayer
Lord, give me grace to begin again. Where I have grown weary, renew me. Where I have wandered, gently lead me home. Amen.
What small step of faith can I take this morning?
