Peace & His Presence

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Reflection
Peace is not the absence of trouble; it is the presence of God. John 14:27 steadies us: "Peace I leave with you, my peace…" The world cannot manufacture this peace, and circumstances cannot take it away. It is given, not earned. Today, receive the peace of Christ as a gift. Be still long enough to hear Him. Quiet your striving long enough to remember that He is God. Peace will return to the soul that returns to Him.

Prince of Peace, settle Your peace deep in my heart today. Where I am anxious, calm me. Where I am restless, still me. Amen.
