Peace & His Presence

“I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.”

Reflection
The peace of God guards the heart. Psalm 4:8 promises, "I will both lay me down in…" It is a sentinel that stands watch when our own thinking would betray us. Today, let the peace of God guard your heart. Refuse to let anxious thoughts have the last word. Replace them with truth, with prayer, with thanksgiving.

Father, draw me into Your presence. There is nowhere I would rather be than near You. Amen.
