December · Day 353 of 365
Be Still
Peace & His Presence
Scripture
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”
— Luke 2:14 (KJV)
Reflection
Peace is not the absence of trouble; it is the presence of God. Luke 2:14 steadies us: "Glory to God in the highest, and…" The world cannot manufacture this peace, and circumstances cannot take it away. It is given, not earned. Today, receive the peace of Christ as a gift. Be still long enough to hear Him. Quiet your striving long enough to remember that He is God. Peace will return to the soul that returns to Him.
Prayer
Father, draw me into Your presence. There is nowhere I would rather be than near You. Amen.
Thought for the Day
Where do I most need God's peace today?
