February · Day 42 of 365
Drawn by Kindness
The Love of God
Scripture
“Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up… beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.”
— 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (KJV)
Reflection
To be deeply loved by God is the most stabilizing truth in the universe. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 declares, "Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity…" and it is meant to settle the soul. Let this truth do something today. Let it loosen the grip of comparison. Let it soften the edges of self-criticism. Let it remind you that your value was never up for negotiation. The God who knows everything about you loves you completely. Stand in that. Walk in that. Speak from that. The love of God is not a feeling to chase but a foundation to live on.
Prayer
Loving God, help me to live as one who is deeply loved. Free me from the need to prove what You have already declared. Amen.
Thought for the Day
How can I rest in being loved before I try to do anything?
